Cycle Vasaloppet!? Yes, that’s possible. Cykelvasan is the whole traditional Vasaloppet, but with bikes instead of skis and a distance of 94 km.
Helén and Erik, ambassadors from the Sustainable Racing Team, went to Sälen last weekend to experience Cykelvasan. Helén is a rookie riding a mountain bike. She usually runs in the forrest and when (if ) she bikes she bikes on asphalt. Erik is an experienced MTB-biker used to fly down the hills.
This was a new adventure for both of them.
Together with 18 000 others they started in Sälen and passed all the famous Vasaloppet checkpoints on their way to Mora and the finish line. Along the race there were thousands of cheering spectators and functionaries that made them bicycling with smiles the whole 94 kilometres.
The race goes threw forest roads, gravel and a few kilometres on asphalt. If you can take your eyes of the road the surroundings are so beautiful.
So.....if you want to experience Vasaloppet, but can´t ski and running Vasaloppet is overwhelming, cycle it! Even if you´re a rookie or experienced MTB-biker, you will have a great day going from Sälen to Mora. It´s up to you how fast you want to go down hill (or uphill;-))
Eat Forum 2017 was organized in Stockholm, this Monday and Tuesday. The EAT foundation’s ambition is to reform the global food system and enable us to feed a growing global population with healthy food from a healthy planet.
Sustainable Racing Team was there together with their partner Tetra Pak.
Sustainable Racing Team took a morning walk to pre-Eat together with the president of WWF, Yolanda Kakabadse Navarro. At pre-EAT there were discussions about sustainability and health between spokespersons from WWF, Ica, Lantmännen, EAT foundation and Tetra Pak Nordics. For example they discussed how to get customers to choose sustainable and healthy products.
Sustainable Racing Team also had a morning run/walk on Tuesday morning threw the inner-city of Stockholm.
After the run/walk we shoot a film for Tetra Pak together with Josefin Dahlberg. You can see the first of two films here
Food can fix it!
This Saturday, we and 27 000 other runners ran through the new Stockholm City Line. A unique race beneath the city centre and this was the only chance to run in the tunnel.
The mood was on top from the start, after we´ve got warmed up by Susanne Lanefelt and 2 hip hop boys.
Just before start we learned that the hill "aborrbacken" has a 12 % upgrade and in the tunnel the hills have a grade between 12-14%. Didn´t know there were hills in a tunnel!
After 2 km around Karolinska the 6 km tunnel waited for us. Running trough the tunnel you forgot all about hills, tiredness and to many layers of clothes. There were light shows, a choir singing, music on big screens, running facts with Calle Moraeus, cheering volunteers, signs so you knew when you were running under Central stationen......
This was a unique race in many ways. We´ve never seen so many smiling people running, even running the last km uphill, they had a smile! This is what all training and work out should be about; having fun!
They welcomed us back in 2025, so probably there will be another race then, somewhere! Run it! We will guarantee you a running memory for life!
In the latest Runner´s World in Sweden, March 2017, you can read about trail running on Skåneleden.
Read the article and be inspired to take your training outside your comfort box. Try something new and find the joy of undemanding running!
The article is written by Helén, one of the ambassadors of the SRT.
Erik, Helén and Henrik, ambassadors of the Sustainable Racing Team, have been in the north of Sweden shooting film for Tetra Pak.
Tetra Pak is official water supplier and partner to the World Ski Championships 2017 in Finland. One of the films will be running on the big screen in Lahti, so if you´re going there, maybe you´ll see us.
If not, keep your eyes on Tetra Pak´s social media, because soon one of the other films will be running there.
The contents of the films are to maintain your sustainable and active lifestyle even in the winter and the films will inspire you to do so. Also to remind you to keep your waterbalance in the winter, you don´t feel as thirsty when it´s cold outside. This can cause dehydration!
What could be better than ending the year by running a race on New Year´s Eve?
For us and hundreds of other runner´s it´s become a tradition to run Sylvesterloppet in Kalmar. Even for the non-runners in Kalmar it´s been a tradition to cheer along the race. The atmosphere during the race is fantastic!
This year the weather wasn´t inspiring for running, windy, grey and a couple of degrees. Despite that, there was a new record of participants and the mood was on top! So many kids, adults and seniors running with a big smile!
If you weren´t able to participant in an organized race like this, hopefully you and your family and friends have made a tradition by running your own local race. The most important thing is that you move, not where you do it!
Sustainable Racing Team wish you all A Happy New Running Year

Husky is a MEDIA PARTNER of the SUSTAINABLE RACING TEAm. Husky is all about collecting stories.
Magnus Ormestad, the founder of Husky podcast, was sick and tired of his job and in desperate need of inspiration and some kind of meaning in his life. He made a desicion around New Years Eve 2012 that he wanted to create an own outdoor podcast and the name “Husky” came to his mind.
The pod quickly became famous and have taken him to Svalbard, to the mountains up north and to world class training centers in the jungles of Phuket. He has met olympic champions, adventurers, pioneers and inspiring people who at some point decided to follow the paths of their dreams. They live on their way up, or down, majestic mountains. They choose the depths of the oceans and they follow trails with no end. All Magnus does do is to collect their stories.
– We are very proud and pleased to have Husky as a mediapartner of Sustainable Racing Team. Husky stands for the same fundamental values as we do. A sustainable and healthy lifestyle is very important for both us and for Husky, says Henrik M Lindgren, the team captain of Sustainable Racing Team.

ICA wants to help you reduce your carbon footprint in everyday life without reducing taste or the enjoyment of food. Sustainable Racing Team likes this.
The recipes that are good for the climate will be marked with one, two or three leaves symbolizing how good they are from a climate perspective. The calculations are based on a scientific method developed in cooperation with Chalmers University of Technology. According to a report by ICA it shows that 76 percent of the people asked want to learn more about living in a way that have a low impact on the climate.
So far, about 1400 recipes are climate guided out of ICA's total of about 17,000 recipes. All new recipes will be climate calculated and a number of existing recipes will also be calculated and climate adapted during the year.
